Use Playbook rules

Use plain-English Rules to guide product recommendations and sales behavior.

Rules help you guide how Angle sells and responds.

Use rules when you want Angle to follow a specific instruction for your store.

What Rules Are Good For

Rules are useful for:

  • Prioritizing specific products
  • Recommending products under a price range
  • Explaining store-specific policies
  • Guiding shoppers to bestsellers
  • Handling gift recommendations
  • Steering shoppers toward or away from certain categories

Rule Examples

Good rules are specific and easy to follow.

Examples:

  • If someone asks about gifts, prioritize items under $50.
  • If someone asks about outdoor toys, recommend our Drift Scooter first.
  • If someone asks for beginner-friendly products, recommend products from the Starter collection.
  • If a shopper asks about returns, explain that returns are accepted within our policy window.

Step 1: Open Playbook

In Angle, go to:

  1. Training
  2. Playbook

Step 2: Add A Rule

Write your rule in plain English.

Keep it short. Angle works best when the instruction is clear.

Step 3: Save The Rule

After saving, Angle can use the rule in shopper conversations.

How Many Rules Can I Add?

You can add up to 10 rules per store.

Use rules for the most important selling guidance. Avoid adding too many small instructions that may conflict with each other.

Tips For Better Rules

  • Write one instruction per rule
  • Use product or collection names exactly when possible
  • Avoid vague rules like "always sell better"
  • Do not use rules for information that belongs in the Knowledge Base
